Diversity at Rheinmetall

More than 33,000 people at Rheinmetall have one thing in common: a great enthusiasm for technology. Alongside this commonality, however, there are also differences in a global technology group. As an employer, it is important to us to create a supportive and motivating working environment for our employees.

As part of our diversity strategy, we therefore focus primarily on the topics of gender, generations and cultures, as these offer many points of contact in the everyday lives of our international employees.

Why is diversity important for us?
"What inspires me at Rheinmetall in my day-to-day work is the open and respectful dialogue. We promote open and intercultural exchange. Because everyone can learn something from each other.

Together, we can achieve more. Thus, it is important for us as an employer to support and educate our employees in handling diversity topics in their everyday work. Therefore, we offer various seminars and e-learnings on the topic of diversity, including intergenerational cooperation in the workplace and intercultural competence.

There are also internal training opportunities for those who represent the interests of severely disabled people and people of equal status at Rheinmetall. We are becoming increasingly successful in raising awareness of the issue of inclusion among managers and employees. Those involved need to define requirements and find solutions. After all, inclusion affects everyone and can only work together.

“In recent years, we have seen more understanding for our concerns at all levels and have been better at raising awareness for inclusion."
ULRICH SPORLEDER

Representative body for disabled employees at Rheinmetall

Rheinmetall supports a corporate culture in which everyone can develop their full potential. The workforce is supported and trained in dealing with diversity in their daily work. In particular, this is about equal opportunities and corporate success. To ensure equal opportunities for disabled persons, employees at Rheinmetall are organised in bodies representing persons with severe disabilities.
Experiences
„My hearing loss is not a weakness, but a strength. It has taught me to be open and self-confident and shows that being different is not a negative thing - it is a source of pride and strength.“

To be connected

Diversity has a different meaning for everyone, but continuous exchange creates understanding and connection. That's why various networks within the Rheinmetall Group are available to anyone who wants to talk. Further networks are welcome.

At women@Rheinmetall, more than 700 Rheinmetall employees in 33 countries are committed to our female colleagues and all interested parties. In Italy, a D&I (Diversity and Inclusion) team stands up for an open and inclusive environment at Rheinmetall. A company-wide Diversity Committee is to provide impetus, take up local initiatives and, where possible, expand them internationally.
