About the Team
This role forms part of the larger Quality division and will report to the EMC Systems Manager. The role will be based in an office and laboratory environment at our MILVEHCOE in Redbank, Ipswich, QLD.
About the Role
You will be based at Military Vehicle Center of Excellence (MILVECHOE) which has our state of the art Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Chamber and will join a dynamic team.
You will be responsible for EMC testing military vehicles, weapons and assemblies under the technical supervision of the EMC Engineering team. The role also supports the processes of managing calibrated tooling and equipment, within RDA’s Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank, Ipswich, QLD. Appropriate training will be supplied to a candidate with suitable knowledge in the electrical, RF, electronics or general laboratory fields. Juniors / graduates in the aforementioned fields are encouraged to apply.
As the EMC Technician, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
- Perform EMC testing including Radiated Emissions and Immunity, RADHAZ and Radio Performance tests;
- Conduct EMC Lab maintenance and basic calibration activities;
- Provide support services to enable effective decision making and delivery of sound EMC testing outcomes;
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to measurement equipment;
- Assist to develop testing procedures in accordance with Rheinmetall and OEM specifications;
- Prepare reports for instrument calibration performance, EMC system performance and EMC testing management system;
- Prepare comprehensive reports which document methodology, evaluate findings and explain other information pertinent to the analysis of measuring equipment performance; and
- Undertake administrative duties related to EMC and Calibration.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Relevant qualification (degree or diploma);
- Experience in a testing, electrical, electronics, measurement or calibration environment;
- Experience in electrical testing and/or calibration; (desirable)
- Experience working in an ISO:17025 laboratory (desirable);
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office suite;
- Experience in NATA audits (desirable);
- Experience diagnosing issues with electrical systems; (desirable)
- Knowledge of measurement and testing systems (desirable); and
- Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
