RDA’s Legal and Commercial function is a dynamic team made up of legal, contracting, commercial, IP and trade compliance specialists that support the business in delivering and mitigating risk under existing contracts and tendering for new business.
About the Role
The Commercial Manager is responsible for providing contractual management support for the LAND 400 Phase 2 Intercompany Contracts and Approved Subcontractor Contracts. The Commercial Manager is a primary contact for the Rheinmetall’s related entities performing work under the LAND 400 Phase 2 contract and is a key interface to ensure the group of companies’ compliance with contractual terms.
As Commercial Manager, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
- Administer and manage the LAND 400 Phase 2 intercompany contracts and ensure the group of companies’ compliance with reporting requirements under the Prime Contract and internal requirements;
- Draft, administer and manage the LAND 400 Phase 2 Approved Subcontractor Contracts and Ensure the Prime Contract is updated to reflect the relevant Approved Subcontractors;
- Develop, draft and negotiate amendments, and other agreements (such as non-disclosure agreements) related to the intercompany and Approved Subcontractor Contracts;
- Liaise with the subcontract team to ensure that mandatory flow downs from the Prime Contract and/or contractual revisions are passed onto general subcontractors;
- Identifying and managing contractual risk;
- Ensure that an updated and conformed version of the contracts are available on SharePoint at all times;
- Maintain an amendment register and assist with budget transfers and scope changes;
- Support the development of new business opportunities including drafting, consolidating, processing, tracking and recording of offers, bids and tenders that may impact the group of companies e.g. scope increases from successful survey and quotes under the Prime Contract;
- Represent RDA in subcontract negotiations (including amendments) as well as at progress and other meetings with customers and suppliers;
- Providing routine and ad hoc reports, and contractual assistance, as required;
- Provide training to the Rheinmetall group of companies on the key contractual requirements of the Prime Contract and ensure the subcontracted entities understand their key contractual obligations; and
- Introduce and undertake internal audits of the intercompany agreements to ensure that RDA and its subcontractors (Rheinmetall group companies) are complying with their contractual requirements and reporting requirements.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Significant experience in proposal development, contracts, contracts management and administration experience, preferably in relation to Australian Government major projects;
- Experience with ASDEFCON;
- Proficient in MS Office Suite including Microsoft Explorer, Microsoft Office, Professional suite and SharePoint;
- Demonstrated high level of personal motivation;
- Experience collaborating within of a multidiscipline/ matrixed global organisation;
- Ability to travel interstate and/or overseas when required; and
- Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
