WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
CAD Management
- Manage CAD data for the engineering department.
- Administer the PDM system to ensure usability and efficiency.
- Manage CAD packages for the engineering department.
Process Management
- Overseeing the design process to ensure it runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Setting up workflows.
- Ensure design standards and best practices are followed.
- Optimization of the design process to ensure productivity and quality.
Project Coordination
- Coordinating design projects by managing schedules
- Communication with the project team.
- Ensure design tasks are aligned with project timelines.
- Ensure risks are managed effectively.
- Support manufacturing with design related queries.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure that CAD meets the required standards.
- Ensure that drawings meet the required standards.
- Ensure that regulatory requirements are met.
- Ensure that engineering change proposals are implemented.
Design
- Ensure that necessary design documentation is in place; SOR, CAD, calculations sheets, specification sheets and drawings.
- Guide design towards standardization of parts and equipment.
- Chair design review meetings.
- Chair risk assessments.
- Ensure that sound design principles are followed.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
- B.Eng or higher (Mechanical preferred)
- Courses or certification in explosives, ammunition systems and weapon systems (Advantageous)
- Product Data Management Certification (Advantageous)
- Experience in an equipment design environment (experience in explosives or ammunition environment is desirable).
- At least 8 years of engineering design experience.
- Design management experience would be
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Analytical thinker with good reasoning skills.
- Good communication, planning and organizing skills.
- Interdisciplinary skills related to engineering design.
- Highly organized and self-motivated.
- Ability to interact with people at all levels.
- Ability to work precisely and methodically with minimum supervision and a self-starting attitude.
- Technical writing and documentation experience.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Highly computer literate.
- Travel domestically and internationally.
