Trojan
Armoured Engineer Vehicle
Trojan is a highly-capable armoured engineer vehicle designed to provide manoeuvre support in direct fire zones.
The vehicle removes battlefield obstacles and clears routes, providing safe passage for the battlegroup.
Trojan operates with a crew of three and performs a wide range of functions. For clearing obstacles, the vehicle can be equipped with a dozer blade, hydraulic power tools and can perform excavation with a 1m³ bucket. Trojan can also cross short gaps (8m) using fascines.
For breaching minefields, Trojan can be fitted with a full-width or track-width mine plough. It can tow and fire the Python explosive mine hose from under armour. Trojan is also equipped with a 7.62mm overhead machine gun with 360° traverse, operated from under armour.
Along with the Titan armoured engineer vehicle, Trojan provides the British Army with a common heavy armour fleet based on the Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank chassis.
