Gunnery and combat
The Combat and Gunnery Skills Training Systems address the training needs of crews of armed and armored vehicles, including main battle tanks, armored infantry fighting vehicles, tactical patrol vehicles and others.
On these systems training can be provided for individuals, crews, platoons, companies,
(mixed) combat teams, e.g.:
The advantage for trainees and instructors is that training can be performed in a repeatable manner and always under controlled circumstances. That way a skill standard for the crews can be defined, achieved and evaluated in much less time compared to training on the real vehicle only.
Moreover, cost and availability factors of the real vehicles, such as fuel, ammunition, spares, and maintenance are avoided, as the operational cost of a simulator is much lower and availability is much higher.
The Combat and Gunnery Skills Training Systems are based on the Rheinmetall’s high-end scenario generator TacSi® plus high-fidelity simulation components including a sophisticated ballistics simulation, the power of game-based visual system technology as well as Computer Generated Forces to permit fully automated combat control. Moreover, the fidelity of the crew training station can be freely chosen according to the needs and the training philosophy of the customer. Also different stations with different fidelities can be intermixed in a network. It can be configured as a single gunnery training system up to a full simulator network at company level and beyond. This is achieved by exploiting the intrinsic networking capabilities of the system which allows flexible setups.
On these systems training can be provided for individuals, crews, platoons, companies,
(mixed) combat teams, e.g.:
- basic gunnery training like familiarization, target acquisition, tracking and engagement, ammunition selection, firing procedures in normal and degraded mode, etc.
- advanced gunnery training like engaging moving targets, engaging targets while moving, long-range engagements, evasive & intelligent enemy, urban terrain etc.
- crew training like coordination, drills, tactical and combat procedures etc.
- all training can be provided in different weather, terrain and visibility condition and with arbitrary complex scenarios.
