100 years of the Rheinisches Orchester Duisburg e.V. – Rheinmetall supports anniversary concert
- Rheinmetall supports the anniversary concert of the Rheinisches Orchester Duisburg
- Rheinmetall is also a partner of the Düsseldorf Festival 2024
The Rheinische Orchester Duisburg e.V. (ROD) was founded 100 years ago. To mark this anniversary, the ensemble is staging a symphonic gala concert in Duisburg-Homberg on 22 September 2024.
Conductor Ludwig Krinner will be in charge of the musical direction. As part of its corporate citizenship commitment, Rheinmetall is supporting the event.
In addition to Georg Friedrich Handel's ‘Music for the Royal Fireworks’, Joseph Haydn's ‘Trumpet Concerto’ and Franz Schubert's Symphony No. 8, the orchestra also has a musical surprise in store for the audience.
The ROD is made up of around 30 amateur musicians of different ages and occupations. Under professional direction, the orchestra prepares one or two concert programmes per year, drawing on different epochs – from the Baroque to the 20th century. In addition, the orchestra performs with choirs from Duisburg and the surrounding area. In June 2024, the ROD was honoured by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier for special services to instrumental music with the Pro-Musica medal.
In addition to the ROD's anniversary concert, the Düsseldorf technology group is also supporting the Düsseldorf Festival in 2024. The privately organised event presents international art and culture in the state capital. The festival will take place in Düsseldorf's old town until 30 September 2024.
