Area Supervisor – Integration Commissioning & Delivery

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

About the Team

You will be working closely with the Technicians, Mechanics and Team Leads to provide high quality of work. The role will be based at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank.

About the Role

Reporting to the Production Manager – Vehicle Assembly and Weapons, Area Supervisor –Integration, Commissioning and Delivery is responsible for the supervision of Integration, Commissioning and Delivery of L400 Phase 2 Boxer variants in accordance with Prime Contracts, and support the development of Technology Transfer Plans within the Rheinmetall entities.

This role will be an integral part of the global integrated team within Rheinmetall Land systems at Rheinmetall Defence to manage the program execution of the all Weapons and Weapons system to assist with the capture of export markets.

The general and generic duties of the Area Supervisor –Integration, Commissioning and Delivery includes, but is not limited to:

  • Keeping track of the maintenance, production, and quality of the work;
  • Ensuring work environment is safe and secure;
  • Develop and manage risk assessment, SOP’s and area instructions;
  • Meeting deadlines and supervising working hours;
  • Supervise production schedule to ensure project timelines are met and identifying root causes of delays;
  • Produce reports and data required for Area reporting to line manager;
  • Conduct Daily Start Ups, PDCA and maintain vehicle status board currency;
  • Maintain company standards with regards to lean principles;
  • Enable continuous improvement process;
  • Technical reporting, maintain technical logs and develop procedural documentation;
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders when required. Ie. Facilities, Production managers, Quality;
  • Conduct Personnel appraisal reviews and reports;
  • Ensure SAP entries (Q notes) issues have been raised;
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) process;
  • Ensure hour enters have been completed on time;
  • Coordinating and supervising the activities of the employees;
  • Solving personnel issues and developing solutions;
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated;
  • Coaching and training plans, update training Matrix and conduct capability reviews with production manager periodically;
  • Support hiring process for direct team;
  • Manage sub-contractor work and visits to area of responsibility;
  • Performance manage team members when required; and
  • Provide leadership to the Commissioning technicians through effective coaching and constructive feedback on an individual and on-going basis to maximize performance and development of team members, to enable them to take an active role in improving their own performance.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: 

  • Trade qualifications in related discipline of Engineering: Mechanical, Electrical or Armament Maintenance;
  • Proven (7+ years) experience in Production or Operations Management, within the Defence or Defence Industry;
  • Proven ability to devise and implement strategic development and resource planning, particularly  within a launch phase of a project and also related to the management of change;
  • Proven experience in Integration and test environments;
  • Formal certifications in Leadership and Management; and
  • Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
