Biography

Following his training as an industrial mechanic from 1993 to 1997 at KS Gleitlager GmbH, Sven Schmidt was a machinery installer in the production division of the company from 1997 to 2006 before being elected to the Works Council in 1998. Since 2006, he has been a full-time member of the Works Council. That same year, Sven Schmidt became a member of the Subordinate Group Works Council at Rheinmetall Automotive AG and a member of the Group Works Council for Rheinmetall AG. Since 2010, he has been the Chairman of the Works Council for KS Gleitlager GmbH at the St. Leon-Rot location as well as Chairman of the Overall Works Council for KS Gleitlager GmbH. In 2014, Sven Schmidt became the Vice Chairman of the Subordinate Group Works Council of Rheinmetall Automotive AG. Sven Schmidt has also been Chairman of the Group Works Council of Rheinmetall AG since 2018.
