Interview: Carsten Klebe, Corporate Controlling Officer
Carsten Klebe began a six-month internship in Corporate Controlling at Rheinmetall AG in Düsseldorf at the end of 2021. The 29-year-old was taken on subsequently and is now responsible for the companies of the Power Systems division as a subsidiary controller.
I became aware of Rheinmetall through the positive feedback of my friend Jonas Lütke-Holz, who works as an HR controller in the Group. Today, we work as colleagues in Group Controlling at Rheinmetall AG.
As a listed international technology group, Rheinmetall appealed to me as an employer because, as an industrial engineer, I have a keen interest in technology and finance. In addition, I am also privately involved with the stock market and shares.
“As an innovative technology group, Rheinmetall offers me the ideal environment to live out my enthusiasm for technology and business.”
Corporate Controlling Officer at Rheinmetall in Düsseldorf
In addition to my function as contact person for the Power Systems division, as Investment Controller I prepare, among other things, the Group's management reporting, which serves the Executive Board as a basis for decision-making.
Contributing to the planning process, preparing ad-hoc inquiries and profitability analyses for the Executive Board, as well as implementing and further developing processes, are also part of my job as Corporate Controller at Rheinmetall.
I currently work in a hybrid work model, i.e. part time at the office and part time at home. Working from home allows me to use the travel time I save for my sport. I spend my free time at the tennis court or go for a run.
Through cross-departmental exchanges, I get to know many new work colleagues, which also gives me the opportunity to take different perspectives and share experiences. Regular workshops and team events at the various Rheinmetall sites are another reason why I identify with Rheinmetall and enjoy going to work. The transformation of the automotive sector and the "change of era" within the defense industry that has been "heralded" since the beginning of the year will continue to make for an exciting day at work in the future and always guarantee the necessary enthusiasm for my work.
