Who we are
Rheinmetall Denel Munition (Pty) Ltd. is headquartered in Cape Town, the Western Cape, and is jointly owned by the conglomerate Rheinmetall group and Denel, the South Africa’s arms manufacturer and defence solutions provider.
We specialize in the design, development and manufacture cutting-edge munitions technology systems, sub-systems and products for our local and international customers.

We offer an Accelerated Graduate Program (AGP) to engineering and science students; developing and equipping them with technical skills and experience while fostering a conducive working environment for innovation. As a technology driven organisation, we nurture our talent to develop leaders of tomorrow.
Each year, we attract up to 20 Graduates to go through our intense and comprehensive program which starts with workplace readiness orientation. This is to prepare them as they transition into their career journey. A mentor is for each Graduate for the duration of the program. We aim to absorb all the AGP interns who finish the program at different sites.
RDM also provides internship for other disciplines that support our core business.

Requirements for the bursary - Are you a South African citizen studying or intending to study Engineering or Science at one of our recognised Universities in South Africa? Then be on the lookout for our advert in October for our annual intake.
- Grade 12 / Matric learners must have maintained a 70% or higher in Mathematics & Science
- Tertiary students must have maintained a minimum of a 70% aggregate.
Senior Scientist Propellants, Explosives & Pyrotechnics (PEP) Product Development
Rheinmetall Denel Munition (RDM) fosters an environment of growth and innovation. Working on technology development projects enables me to apply my creativity and introduce innovative solutions to our product portfolio, a process I highly value. This role enables me to responsibly experiment with new products and processes, continually pushing the boundaries of our capabilities. In addition, I am pursuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering with a focus on additive manufacturing of energetic materials, with the support of RDM. This advanced degree will enhance my research and development skills, furthering my expertise as a research professional. I am excited and motivated by the unique platform RDM has provided, enabling me to develop innovative approaches and methodologies. I aspire to leave a lasting legacy that future generations can build upon and further enhance.
