"Rheinmetall's objectives in Hungary are the closest to my professional goals!"
Milán Oláh

Head of Department

I worked in the defence sector before, where Rheinmetall is one of the biggest names. I first heard about the company in 2018 at my previous job. There, I had the opportunity to get to know several companies within the defence industry. The community was very friendly and welcoming everywhere, but I think Rheinmetall's objectives in Hungary are the closest to my professional goals. Therefore, it wasn't a difficult question when the opportunity to join came up.

Being an engineer with experience in the defence industry is quite rare in Hungary, although it is absolutely not an expectation, I think it helped me a lot to get in. The integration process was very easy, thanks to the staff and the attention the company paid to creating a friendly working environment from the very beginning.

I am the head of the Export Control Department in Hungary. The day-to-day work is very varied, we don't work with a well-established system that just has to be maintained, but the process itself has to be planned and then implemented. I am very motivated to see this "big machine" finally start up.

Rheinmetall is constantly coming up with new ideas, products and expansion opportunities in Hungary. In addition to the many exciting opportunities within the group, I can also sense a supportive attitude from the management. Everything is there for a good career.

I want to create a supportive environment in which we can grow up to do the job we've been given - as a team.

The launch of a greenfield facility and the revitalisation of the defence industry in Hungary can be both appealing and a little daunting. Therefore, my strategic goal is to lay the foundations for an efficient, but at the same time motivating engineering work together with my team. I want to create a supportive environment in which we can grow up to do the job we've been given while moving forward as a team.

The operational objective is to support the production of the Lynx. Here we can gain a lot of experience that we can later use in our development activities. One of the biggest benefits of having development and production in the same building is that we can learn from each other as a team.

For me, it is always important to build mutual respect and trust, camaraderie and consistency, which are in line with the values of Rheinmetall. We try to place the right emphasis on these in the recruitment process and in employee development.

The idea that we can build a team of bright-eyed, motivated, driven, and resilient people who have come into this industry is enough motivation for any day. Add to this the fact that from an engineering perspective, we are also creating some very exciting technologies and products by working together. What's more, our products also support the country's defence capabilities in the long term. For me, this is the perfect motivation.

“My current goal is to prepare the new factory under construction to meet production needs and start it on time, but I also see many exciting opportunities within the company, including working abroad.”
Marcell Pék

Project Lead

I heard about the centre being built in the Zala Zone through a friend, and I was not at all daunted by the fact that it was a completely new company in Hungary, in fact, my goal was to be involved in the creation of a completely new factory in a greenfield investment.

In 2021, I signed my employment contract with Rheinmetall, where I work as a Project manager in Production. After the recruitment process, I had a 7 month training period in Germany, where I was given an insight into the life and operations of the Unterlüß factory.

I am responsible for the preparation, management and follow-up of the production activities and for the start-up and operation of the production together with the production team. My aim is to deliver vehicles that meet the specification of the Hungarian Army within the contractually agreed timeframe.

Quality Assurance Manager

The defence industry is one of the sectors where the latest technological developments are being used for the first time and I see it as an exciting opportunity to experience them first hand. I was also attracted to the position because of the opportunity to be involved in laying down processes that fundamentally shape the way the company operates.

I am responsible for ensuring that the vehicle our customers buy is what they expect. My department ensures that the quality of the activities that support production, such as welding, assembly, and processing, meet our customer's expectations.

After my training abroad and then my practical work here, I can confidently say that I have found the opportunities I was looking for in a greenfield company. Rheinmetall Hungary Zrt. gives me the space and freedom to use my experience and the expertise of my colleagues to put together the best concepts and processes that a manufacturing company needs. I am confident that well-designed processes will contribute to the future success of the company.

We are building a new company in Hungary from the ground up, so we value the small successes alongside the big milestones."

Project Lead

Our workforce is constantly expanding, and jobs are dynamically adapting to changing business needs. My staff members like coming to work because they feel they have a good team and have developed a lot in recent months. As young professionals they have managed to rise to the challenge, which makes me proud.

The personal interview focused on exploring programming and logical skills, with a thought-provoking problem to solve. At that point, I already suspected that this would be a good job.

Head of Department, Technical Project Management

I am in charge of the Technical Project Management department, where the main part of my job is to coordinate the development of the well-known Lynx and a completely new rubber-tired armoured military vehicle. The latter is a unique Hungarian - German R&D programme.

Together, under the leadership of the engineering department and with the help of the German parent company, our common goal is to build up competitive defence industry knowledge in Hungary.

We are planning to expand our team even further as exciting projects lie ahead of us. Our goal is to build up competitive defence industry knowledge in Hungary, so I would like to encourage engineers (m/f/d) to take advantage of this unique opportunity and join us!
