Process Engineer

The Process Engineer will contribute to all objectives and functions of the Process Engineering Department including plant and process improvements, plant documentation, technical drawings, design, installation and commissioning of equipment and processes.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Support production facilities from a process engineering perspective.
• Confirm and update drawings so that the engineering drawings correspond to the plant layout.
• Recommend process optimization opportunities.
• Provide technical input into the process changes/modifications.
• Train production teams on all Process Engineering related documents.
• Assist with plant technical documentation i.e. PMI, FOI and related documents as required.
• Assist and/or update, create, verify and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM's).
• Assist and/or update, create, verify and maintain process routings (Bill of Process, BoP) of products. This will requires specialized knowledge with respect to RDM‘s facilities, plants, processes and equipment.
• The tasks include but is not limited to leading the manufacturing process documentation reviews, as mentioned above, according to the company procedures and legal requirements.
• This effort must include the SAP and PLM procedure associated with the documentation creation and approval process.
• The basic maintenance and upkeep of existing administrative procedures and recommendations for continuous upgrades to such systems.

• B.Eng. in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering
• 2 years working experience in a process engineering environment 
• CAD literate.
• Computer literate (MS Office) with good presentation skills.
• Knowledge of SHE/OHS/Quality Systems/Explosives Act and relevant legislation. (advantageous)
• Knowledge of Explosives Act and relevant legislation. (advantageous)
• Formal training in Explosives Technology would be advantageous.
• Driver's license, Code B (Code 8) is essential.
