Electrician (m/f/d)

The Electrician will be responsible for performing planned and general maintenance to plant and to electrical equipment as per job cards. Perform and sign-off scheduled and statutory inspections. Do standby on a rotational basis and overtime as per request. Oversee training and development of subordinates. Electrical maintenance and fault finding on Somerset West's Power Plant:  Solar PV Plant, Diesel Generator Plant and power distribution systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain all infrastructure and services as per job card for maximum availability.
• Performed planned & breakdown maintenance.
• Conduct fault finding on equipment. 
• Be cost effective when performing maintenance tasks.
• Be effective in communication and build relationships with peers, subordinates and clients.
• Maintain good housekeeping standard in the workshop and when performing task on the plant.
• Monitor and assist in developing of subordinates.
• Completion of job cards according to procedure
• Cooperate with the Plant operations of the Power Plant

• N3 qualification in Engineering.
• Trade Test in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 3 years’ experience as a qualified Electrician.
• Knowledge of electrical installations requirements and regulations in explosive environments.
• Knowledge of PLC programming will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of ComAp and Solar PV PPC’s and programming will be an advantage.
• The ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Computer Literate and able to operate the Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
• Experience with an ERP system like SAP will be an advantage.
• Do fault finding on machinery and equipment.
• Reading and interpretation of drawings and schematic diagrams
