Director Strategic Supplier Management & AIC

About the Team

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, you will be responsible for developing the strategic plan, supplier management, development and contract management, driving efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

About the Role

As the Director Strategic Supplier Management & AIC, you will have full accountability for developing and leading the supplier management and Australian Industry Capability (AIC) requirements. You’ll ensure timely material flow, manage risks and build strong supplier partnerships, all in line with the company’s safety, productivity and sustainability goals.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: 

• Tertiary qualification/s in law, commerce, engineering, supply chain or a related field;
• Extensive experience and knowledge of the Australian Defence industry landscape, including government policies and initiatives.
• Deep expertise in strategic supply chain capability development and contract management driving efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Experience in ASDEFCON contracting principles and program management highly regarded;
• Strong background in strategic supplier commercial and contract management;
• Outstanding leadership, communication and negotiation skills;
• Experience in contract creation and negotiations;
• Strong understanding of global supply chain, logistics, production, procurement and quality principles;
• Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, domestically and internationally; and
• Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance – NV1 (Australian Citizenship required).
