• Independent planning, implementation and operation of infrastructure solutions in the areas of Linux and Unix
  • Migration of decentralised systems into centralised data centres
  • Optimisation and further development of the Linux/Unix infrastructure
  • Problem and error analysis; problem solving even in complex systems or system landscapes
  • Administration of the Linux/Unix infrastructure, capacity management and planning of changes
  • Provision of servers (both on-premise and via Iaas Cloud/ AWS/ Google etc.)
  • Automation in the area of Linux/Unix
  • Project planning and architecture planning
  • Design and maintenance of processes
  • Completion of operational documents and concepts
  • Participation international project teams and project lead
  • Coordination and management of external specialists

 The position can be offered at any national Rheinmetall location.


  • Completed studies or comparable education in the field of IT
  • Several years of knowledge in the area of Linux/Unix (RHEL, Ansible, OpenStack, AIX)
  • Confident in the use and creation of shell scripts for automation
  • Good conceptual skills
  • Certification in the Linux/Unix environment is desirable
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
  • Enthusiasm for the development work within the framework of an IT transformation
  • Independent, self-organised, structured and professional working style
  • Systematic thinking, methodical approach and creativity
  • Strong communication and social skills for cooperation and coordination
  • High level of commitment, motivation, team spirit and ability to work under pressure
  • Assertiveness, flexibility, intercultural competence and willingness to travel
