• Implementation and further development of the Rheinmetall research and technology strategy
  • Coordination of research and technology projects
  • Establishment and maintenance of internal and external customer relations
  • Establishment and maintenance of the technology roadmap and of technology assessment methods
  • Project management for strategically relevant future projects
  • Participation in research and technology groups of various committees (BDSV, etc.)
  • Interaction with research institutes (ISL, Fraunhofer, etc.), defense research and testing centers (WTDn, WIS, etc.) and universities


  • Completed studies in the field of computer science, electrical engineering, or information and communication technologies.
  • Extensive expertise in the field of domestic and international military information and communications technologies, particularly in the areas of military intelligence systems, information and data communications, and command and control systems
  • Good understanding of software defined radio (SDR), 5G, MANet, and cloud, fog, and edge computing issues
  • Experience in interaction with the Federal Ministry of Defense (BMVg) as well as subordinate agencies and departments, in particular the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) and defense technology departments (WTD)
  • Experience in strategic research and innovation management
  • Strong communication skills at the interface between research, business and politics
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
  • Independent working style, ability to work in a team and high level of commitment
  • Ability to work under pressure, strong communication skills and commitment
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel
