Who we are

Mechadyne International Ltd., based in Kirtlington Oxfordshire, was acquired by Rheinmetall in July 2012. Mechadyne undertakes research, design and development in the field of advanced variable valve-train technologies for passenger vehicle and heavy duty internal combustion engines with a view to creating greener and more fuel efficient vehicles.

Rheinmetall Defence UK Limited, based in Bristol, was formed in 2009 to establish a presence in the UK defence market. This has included engagement in the Warrior CSP project, DSG sales and the AJAX project, where Rheinmetall fabricates the turret citadel. The business’s focus is now the Challenger 2 LEP project and fulfilling the UK hub function.

Rheinmetall acquired RFEL Ltd., an SME located on the Isle of Wight, in 2009. RFEL is a technology company providing high-specification signal and video processing products to government, defence and security customers. The product range focusses on vehicle situational awareness, long-range surveillance and electronic warfare/cyber applications.

Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles UK Ltd. combines the strong brands of Rheinmetall and MAN and the complementary technological competencies of both partners to form a globally operating systems house. RMMV is thus following the trend towards the joint procurement of logistics and tactical military vehicles, whose protection and mobility properties have become quite similar due to current operating conditions. The product portfolio of Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles includes medium-, high- and extremely high-mobility logistics vehicle systems as well as armoured vehicle systems, armoured transport vehicles, etc.

RTP-UK Ltd. was established by Rheinmetall Technical Publications GmbH in 2008 to develop a UK support business for aerospace and defence projects. Clients include global aerospace companies with local facilities such as Airbus, Safran, Dowty and General Electric as well as support for various Rheinmetall projects internationally.

Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) is a UK-based combat vehicles design, manufacturing and support business. Headquartered in Telford in the West Midlands, RBSL employs a skilled workforce, located in Telford as well as at sites near Newcastle, Bristol and in Dorset. RBSL’s employees work continually to protect people and national security by supplying the most advanced products and in-service support available.

As a Joint Venture, RBSL combines Rheinmetall’s military vehicles technology and products, with the capabilities and products from BAE Systems including Trojan, Terrier, Warrior, military bridging and the AS90 self-propelled artillery system.

Excluded from the Joint Venture are activities of BAE Systems Land UK in the field of weapons and ammunition in Great Britain, as well as the CTAI project with Nexter.
