WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The BOXER 8x8 is the leading armoured vehicle with a multi-national user background that has been developed in a joint co-operation programme between Germany and the Netherlands by the international consortium ARTEC GmbH in Munich, Germany. ARTEC is a joint-venture of KNDS Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH and Rheinmetall Defence Nederland B.V. It is the prime contractor responsible for the BOXER Programme, the co-ordination of series production and the focal point for export opportunities. Annual sales are normally between 200 and 300 million EUR and as of July 2024 more than 1,700 BOXER vehicles have been contracted. Further large-scale projects are in the pipeline.

In the role of a Systems Engineer for BOXER you ensure the implementation of technical and planning targets within the leading multi-national 8x8 military armoured vehicle programme. Out of the ARTEC industry consortium all technical and cross-discipline activities are focused on making a good product even better to protect the future and security of our customer nations.


Parts of the BOXER Systems Engineer role:

 

  • Perform systems engineering activities across the complete product life cycle, ensuring that all contract requirements are fulfilled
  • Manage and coordinate technical expert working groups including Design Reviews for new development of BOXER variants
  • Manage interfaces within the industrial consortium
  • Manage the qualification & verification phase incl. vehicle off-road trails, protection and electromagnetic compatibility tests as well as test for road-/sea- and air transportability (e.g. A400M)
  • State of the art data management in DOORS
  • Perform project meetings and workshops with internal and external stakeholders
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
  • Mechanical Engineer and/or Electrical Engineer, certified Engineer or equivalent
  • Knowledge in design and development of complex customized products (an armoured vehicle or defence related background is preferred)
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information to a diverse audience
  • Good knowledge of German/English both written and spoken is required to be able to work in a multicultural environment. Project language is English
  • Proficient in MS Office and ideally DOORS
  • Ability to work in an transnational environment and willingness to travel
