About the Team
The RDA Welding department is a core part of the Production team. Our Welders report to our Team Lead – Weld Shop and are a tight knit and supportive team. They form part of our greater Production team which is continuing to expand due to our continued increase in workload. This role will be based at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence in Redbank.
About the Role
RDA are currently expanding our Weld division and will be looking to onboard new Welders to join our team. As a Welder within Rheinmetall Defence Australia, you will be responsible for carrying out the welding and inspection tasks on our Boxer vehicles, components and prototypes in accordance with our quality and safety requirements.
- Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or equivalent Welders trade qualifications;
- Experience working autonomously building welded steel assemblies in a manufacturing environment;
- Qualified with the use MIG and TIG welding systems including working with HS Steels;
- Strong understanding of complete welding fabrication of major assemblies;
- Ability to read and understand specifications, technical drawings, work instructions and test procedures of complex structural components and entire vehicles;
- Crane Operation High Risk Work Licence (desirable);
- Be able to travel internationally if need be for training (this will be a once off occasion); and
- The ability to gain and hold an Australia Defence Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship is needed as a minimum).
