About the Team
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, you will set the vision and strategy for Demand Planning, Purchasing and Inventory Control to ensure a “Best-in-Class” Supply Chain Management (SCM) Program is executed to support company growth strategies and is adaptable to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
About the Role
The Head of Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing and optimising the capability and capacity of the supply chain function of Rheinmetall Defence Australia (RDA).
This includes a consistent and coordinated approach to contracting, managing supplier production capacity, conflicting contractual terms across the entities and Rheinmetall programs. Strategic management of the supply chain in line with market, production and program requirements. This includes the management of strategy, process creation and improvement, policy and procedure governance, and operational management across the multiple functions.
This leadership role requires strategic vision, operational expertise and the ability to drive efficiency and effectiveness across all supply chain functions.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Tertiary qualifications in Law / Procurement / Business / Supply Chain / or related disciplines;
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in managing proposals, estimates, technical documents, commercial/contractual agreements, etc.;
- Project Management experience within Defence / Engineering projects;
- Managed a geographically dispersed team including matrixed and multi-functional teams;
- Created strategic plans, policy formulation and business processes to continuously improve operational efficiencies;
- Collaborative approach and developed interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively across a multi-discipline and international environment with senior management;
- Analytical approach and structured problem solving abilities;
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically when required;
- Ability to adapt, learn, prioritise and structure work within a complex corporate environment; and
- Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance – NV1 (Australian Citizenship required).
