About the Team

This role is an integral part of the Service Support Team at Rheinmetall Defence Australia. 

The Team Lead - Rework will provide frontline leadership to the Maintenance Technician teams for the In-Service Support function ensuring the delivery of Rework maintenance, to meet and exceed the contracted service and other support requirements.

This role will primarily be located at MILVEHCOE, with regular travel to customer locations as / when needed.

About the Role

The Team Lead – Rework is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the Rework maintenance activities of the Land400 BOXER vehicles. The role reports to the Land 400 National Fleet Manager, and involves supervision and coordination of a team of Maintenance Technicians.

Additional duties may include and are not limited to, optimising resource utilisation, tooling and workshop management, upskilling Maintenance Technician team members and reporting to the schedule plan as required.

This role is key to ensuring our Maintenance Technicians have the necessary support at the frontline.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: 

  • Relevant Trade qualifications in an Automotive Field;
  • Extensive experience running trade qualified maintenance teams of up to 10 technicians;
  • Proven experience maintaining a fleet of (light, medium and heavy) trucks/armoured vehicles (tracked and wheeled), servicing and repairing diesel engine and heavy trucks/equipment and all sub-system components, specifically from European manufacturers;
  • Demonstrated experienced working with planning teams utilising CMMS based systems, specifically managing the work allocation and completion in line with work schedules;
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent tasks which have competing demands;
  • Ability to travel interstate and internationally for when required;
  • Ability to interpret technical information, documentation, in-service reports and test results
  • High computer literacy skills, experience with ERP based CMMS systems, SAP preferred;
  • The ability to communicate/provide technical advice in both written and oral formats with a target audience ranging from the end user to the executive manager;
  • Being the face of the Rheinmetall brand when engaging with customers/stakeholders; and
  • Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
